Having a problem Copying DVDs and playing on Philips portable DVD? I am using dvd decrypt then dvd shrink and burning with intervideo. I am using Philips RW DVD discs. The process seems to work but when I try to play the dvd it makes a scratchy sound when loading, they will play on my cheapo dvd player at home, but the purpose of copying them was so that I can use them in the car with the portable philips dvd so that I can keep my three year old son happy. Any ideas? A couple of times I have got a "cyclic error" when tying to burn. Generally it says "loading"and then nothing happens, or its says "no disc" Can anyone help

Philips portable DVD player won't play dvds anymore but will play cds...? I have a philips portable dvd player, the other day it just stopped playing dvds... the dvd would start spinning like it was going to play and said loading on the screen for about 20 seconds then said No Disc. I tried several different DVD's (all of which had played in the player previously)and it did the same thing every time. I put a music CD in and it played fine. I tried a lens cleaner, still not playing DVDs. Any clue as to why it will play CD's and not DVD's? Thanks in advance.

battery replacement for philips portable DVD player PET1030/37? so recently my philips portable DVD player model: PET1030/37 stopped charging when I plugged it into the wall or the car. so I thought that the problem was the actually charging cord so I went and bought another one for this model and the player still wouldn't charge. so now I know that the problem is the internal battery. it must have been recharged so many times that it wont charge anymore. so now im wondering how to get into my player to change the battery. and if your answer to this problem is that it can't be replaced, please don't respond because all products say this and its never true, i've replaced plenty of battery's in my electronics. so if someone could please tell me how or direct me to a site that will tell me how, this would be helpful! thanks :)

How Can I Fix My Philips PET710 Portable DVD Player? My DVD player still works. It turns on and the volume and controls are fine. The problem is that it does not read my DVD. They are American encoded and when i first bought it worked great. Then it started to mouth function and skipped and froze and what not. Now it just does not read my DVD at all and can not load them. BUT it DOES work and the screen and battery is working fine. So if anyone can help that be great. or if anyone has a spare working part of the lens of this model that would be awesome.

My portable DVD player keeps freezing? It's a Philips Portable DVD Player Pet824 and it keeps freezing when it plays a dvd. The weird part is that if I shake it, it works but when I stop shaking it, it freezes again. I know, that's very strange. I know that its not the DVD's because when I play them in another DVD player they work fine. Any help is appreciated. Oh and its also... uh... been dropped a few times and the adjustable screen is broken and won't adjust anymore it falls forward. And it doesn't ALWAYS freeze but it freezes quite a bit... so yeah if that info helps...

Portable DVD player won't work? I've had my Philips portable DVD player for about a year and a half now. Last night when I tried to play a DVD, all I got was the starting blue screen (it's been working great since now). It made squeaky noises and some other weird noises for a few minutes, then said there was "No Disc". I've tried switching out different DVDs, removing the battery pack, smacking the thing a few times, and plugging it in different outlets, but nothing works. This has happened only one other time than this time around January this year. As a doctor's order to soak in the tub for half an hour twice a day, I have nothing else to relieve my endless boredom (watching the candle flicker for an hour a day really isn't as exciting as it sounds)! Please help!

Can I display videogames with a portable DVD player? I have a Philips portable DVD player (PET741W/37), and I am wondering if there is a way to display videogames on it (rather than using a TV). I tried plugging in the rca cables from the Wii into the rca adapter that came with the player, but all I see is a blank screen, with the Wii menu noise coming from the player. Is there a way to make it so that it displays the videogames correctly? Or is it simply impossible to do with this player? Specifically, the rca adapter that came with the player connects the AV out port on the player to the rca cables from the Wii. Upon turning on the Wii and DVD player, I am able to hear the Wii menu noise, but do not see anything on the screen (it says "No Disk"). If I press "AV Mode" on the player, it says "AV Out (No Display)", and the screen goes completely black.

Philips DCP750 Problem? DVD player wont play my burned DVD-R Disc? I tried burning a DVD-R disc on my computer today, and when I tried to play it on my Philips DVd player, it would not play. Firstly the station did not approach me for a whole week and finally when i approached them they immediately called me for receiving the gift. I was thrilled as this was my first time i had won.when i reached there to my dismay instead of the gift they asked me to sign on a agreement and also said that i need to pay x amount of TDS for the billed amount, they produced the bill too. My immediate reaction was if this is a gift and you have already paid the taxes and since they are not into the trading business too so their is no TDS that needs to be levied, for which they had no answers and said we will come back to you. Play HD content without an HD DVD player? Hello, Since my TV (Sony KDL 40S2000) should support HD content, I was wondering is there a way of playing downloaded HD videos without having to buy a new HD DVD player. There's an HDMI socket in the TV, I also have it connected to my Philips DVD player, however the DVD will not support HD files (divX 720i or so). I thought of connecting my laptop, but it has no digital output. How to Burn DVD ripped files to DVD so it can play on my DVD player? Hi every one I have just bought myself Sony Portable DVD player DVP-FX810 (Plays DVD, DVD+R DL, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, MP3 and JPEG formats). I was hoping that I can watch movies on it while I am at work because at my work its gets really boring ones in a while. I had downloaded some DVD Ripped movies they come with extension of ( .vob .bup and .ifo ) and all files are around 4.5gb when I burn them with Nero as DVD video-files when I put disc in the player gives me an error check disc. But when I put that same disc in my Philips player which supports Divx everything works fine. I would like to know is there any way to burn DVD rip files so they can work on my Sony player and also is there are way to convert Divx to DVD. I use TDK disc 4.5 gbs each Thanks for taking your time reading this I hope some one can help me.

I have a Philips Dvd player dvp 5982 thats having problems reading my external hard drive (western digital portable notebook 250gb) I just wanted to watch some AVI files off it on my dvd player. But it doesnt seem to be working. When I plug in my 2 gb flash drive i can run AVI files off of that fine. why will my medion laptop play commercial dvd's but will not recognize home recorded dvd-r discs, if a blank disc is in the drive it shows up in(my computer) but as soon as it is recorded on my philips 3480 dvdr and finalized the laptop will say no media is loaded, I have power dvd and other media players none will recognise these dvd-r discs these are kodak brand any not too technical ideas would be appreciated...the dvd-r discs will play on my household players and a rather fussy portable player with no problems..
