what is a good brand of portable dvd players?

i'm helping my friend look for one this weekend what can she get for $200 or less and has good battery life and can play dvd-r disc? what stores carry it?

1. Most portable players now are under the $200 mark. Batteries in the players will be about the same at 2 hours. Most should be able to play a DVD-r disc. If you are looking at them, most stores will have them on display to play with. Bring a disc with content on it to test in the player. I would try to stay with the known brand names. I know audiovox makes a good portable player. I have also seen a lot Apex players around.
