Dual Screen DVD Players

Question about dual SCART adaptor for DVD and cable box....?

We have only one working SCART input on the back of our TV. This means we have to keep switching cables from the DVD player and cable box depending on what we want to watch. We tried using a SCART splitter, but for some reason the signal from the DVD player (even when it was on standby) interfered with the signal from the cable box - the TV picture was mixed with the 'sleep' screen from the DVD player. The only solution was to switch the DVD player off at the power outlet. Unfortunately the outlet is behind a heavy bookcase, so it wasn't a simple solution. Is there any special SCART cable/adaptor we could use that would overcome the problem of interference from the DVD player?

1. You should be able to find a switch box for scart connections at places like JB Hi Fi, Tandy, Dick Smith, Jaycar etc. Problem solved.
